As stated above, teams will nominate three (3) players from their squad to participate in any particular match. Players MUST be identified to play in order of their ability. i.e player 1 must be the strongest, player 2 the second strongest and so forth. This will make the assignment of Bisques more accurate. Consequently, your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. The line up for each day will be 3, 2, 1, that is the number 3 players from each team will play first, followed by the number 2 players and then lastly the number 1 players, i.e the strongest player will play last.
Matches will be the best of three games. All games will be played to 21, American scoring, with NO SET.
Eye guards are strongly recommended.
Of the two competitors, the player with the highest number of Bisques will serve first. Their starting score will be the difference in the number of Bisques assigned. For example, if Ranabir Dutt with 5 Bisques is playing Harald Blakeslee with 9 Bisques, Harald would serve with the score staring at 4 - 0 (i.e. the difference between the Bisques assigned).
The loser of the first game will be awarded an additional 4 Bisques for the second game. Assume that Harald lost the first game to Ranabir by a score of 21 to 20. Harald would start the second game with 13 Bisques against Ranabir's 5 Bisques. The idea of this is to level the playing field. Harald would then serve first to start the second game at 8 - 0.
If Harald loses the second game then the match is over, having been won by Ranabir 2 - 0. However, if Harald wins the second game, then for the third game he reduces his "increased" Bisques by half (2) to give him 11 Bisques to start the third game, and he will serve at 6 - 0. Bisques can NOT be carried over to the next game.
The following day when playing a new match the players will start once again with their original assigned Bisques, i.e., Harald with 9 and Ranabir with 5 Bisques, no matter who their new opponents are.
All players are requested to assist in refereeing matches. The more experienced players will assist the less experienced players in this respect. JUST ASK !!!
Points earned by teams will be based on the total number of games won after playing all other teams in their groups. Where two teams have the same number of points then the winning team will be the one that won the match between those two teams. If three teams tie and there is still dispute as to the winner then the team with the fewest points scored against it in all their group matches will be the winning team.
There will be prizes for first, second and third place teams and a plaque will be presented to the final winning team. This plaque will be engraved with the team name and be placed in The Met adjacent to the courts.
If any of you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact either David Scruton, Muhammad Sadiq or Rishad Alikhan.

Best of Luck.
